I.Application

LAB135 Petroleum Product Saybolt Colorimeter is used to measure refined liquid oil products, such as undyed motor gasoline, aviation gasoline, jet fuel, naphtha, kerosene and medicinal white oil. Saybolt color refers to the liquid column height value when the sample liquid column is observed and compared with the standard color plate, which is closest to one of the three standard color plates. Saybolt color numbers are specified as: -16 (darkest) ~ +30 (lightest). Saybolt colorimetry (Saybolt Color) test is used for quality control and product identification of refined products with ASTM chromaticity of 0.5 or less.

The determination of petroleum product color is mainly used in the control process of oil production. Because color is an important quality feature of oil products, it is also a feature that product users can easily observe. In some cases, color can reflect the degree of refining of the product. For oil products with a known color range, if its color exceeds this range, it may be contaminated.
